For over 2,000 years, Acupuncture has been used as a method to encourage the body's ability to heal itself. During an Acupuncture treatment at our office you will experience the use of sterile, single-use, hair thin needles inserted in specific point locations with the intention of improving circulation, restoring balance, alleviating pain, reducing inflammation, and promoting relaxation. We use different styles depending on your needs. Traditional Chinese Style of Acupuncture uses points to elicit a sensation of "de qi" known as the excitation of vital energy within our body. This sensation often feels like energy within the body is moving, dispersing, or expanding. Japanese Style is used as a very light and painless style of Acupuncture. For people with specific orthopedic issues, Orthopedic Style is used to target specific motor points to reset and activate the muscles. Tui Na Massage is incorporated in our Acupuncture treatments which uses pressing, rolling, and kneading along one of the body's acupuncture meridians to further move the knots and stagnation.

There are 20 major meridian pathways with hundreds of Acupuncture points situated along them which all have their own actions and indications for healing. Symptom relief is often immediate, but several treatments may be needed depending on lifestyle and if the condition is acute or chronic. As a patient's symptoms improve, visits are spaced further apart until their desired results are achieved. Chronic or severe medical conditions will require more frequent treatments and may take longer to resolve. Many patients choose to maintain their wellness with monthly treatments.

Lymphatic massage is highly effective, non-invasive treatment to open and drain the lymphatic system, release blockages and shift the polarity and pH of the tissue to assist the body in re-establishing homeostasis. This highly effective treatment is used to drain excess fluid and toxins, loosen adhesions, increase oxygen delivery and lift connective tissue, bringing blood flow to stagnant muscles and skin. This method produces a “separation” in tissue layers enabling water absorption and renewed blood flow to dehydrated undernourished tissue. Cupping may be included.

Conditions That Respond Well to Lymphatic Massage and or Cupping Include:

Unexplained Weight Gain

Lymphedema Scars/Scar Tissue

Cellulite Swelling

Lyme Disease

Pre and Post Surgery

During your Naturopathic appointment, your Naturopathic Practitioner will listen to your concerns and do a focused assessment that includes taking a health history, reviewing and/or ordering any necessary laboratory testing, and performing relevant physical exams. Clearly establishing your health-related goals is most important. Your practitioner will explain some initial options, answer your questions and begin to formulate your treatment plan with your input and using the information you provide.

Naturopathy is an integrated method that emphasizes the body's intrinsic ability to heal and maintain itself. It may combine a variety of natural therapies, including herbs, nutrition, detoxification, and lifestyle counseling to support and enhance health.

Naturopathic practitioners focus on treating the whole person, considering physical, emotional, and environmental factors, and aim to address the root causes of illness rather than just alleviating symptoms.

Lynda Carter, LAc, is a Licensed Acupuncturist who earned a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Health Science in 2015. She practices Traditional Chinese Medicine, Japanese Meridian Therapy, and the Balance Method developed by Dr. Richard Tan. Lynda particularly favors Japanese Meridian Therapy for its gentle, classical techniques.

Lynda has extensive experience in treating women’s health at every stage of life, including fertility, pregnancy, postpartum care, perimenopause, and menopause. She also provides comprehensive care for families, including children and infants. Additionally, Lynda specializes in pain management, digestive health, and emotional well-being. She approaches healing holistically, considering the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. Her treatments may integrate lifestyle medicine and nutrition, with a focus on whole-food, plant-based diets. As part of her treatment plans, she may also prescribe traditional Chinese herbal formulas and natural supplements when appropriate.

Lynda’s passion for natural health began decades ago. Growing up on a farm in South Africa, surrounded by a variety of animals, especially horses, she often assisted her mother in caring for them and troubleshooting their health concerns. A pivotal moment in her life occurred when a close friend passed away from cystic fibrosis, motivating Lynda to explore natural healing methods and deepen her understanding of health to better support her loved ones.

An avid gardener, Lynda loves growing herbs and continuously studies health, psychology, and spirituality to expand her knowledge. She holds certifications in Bach Flower Remedies, Western Herbalism, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, and Ayurveda. After relocating to the United States in 2004 with her husband and three children, Lynda embraced the opportunity to pursue her dream of becoming a healthcare practitioner and obtaining a professional degree in natural medicine. Grateful for the opportunity to study and practice this ancient healing art, Lynda remains deeply committed to her work as a healer.

Lynda and her husband of thirty years manage an organic farm in Escondido, where they grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers. They also care for a horse, four cows, and three dogs. Both are devoted practitioners of yoga and meditation. Lynda views her work as a healer and farmer as the ultimate expression of a balanced and fulfilling life.

I use a holistic approach to healing that helps guide you to take control of your wellness and happiness through reconnecting you to your body. I trained at the Lourdes Institute of Holistic Studies in New Jersey where I received an undergraduate degree with over 1000 hrs. of training while serving an herbal medicine apprenticeship. During this training we practiced various types of massage modalities on patients in nursing homes and hospitals that were partnered with the school.

After witnessing an emotional release from a person who hadn’t been touched in so long because they had been sick was life changing; for both of us. This sparked my love for bodywork and being of service.

After graduating in 2014, my quest for knowledge and seeking wellness has led me down many paths outside of traditional bodywork. I’ve continued to grow and evolve during this journey, studying and learning many forms of treatments for the mind and body and how spiritual and emotional healing play a big part in the physical body’s health and wellbeing. I like to use East Asian concepts and theory from my studies in Thailand and Chinese Medicine to help people on their journey, while incorporating bodywork like Chi Nei Tsang, acupressure, various forms of cupping, and Thai massage. Other focuses I enjoy are fertility and prenatal care and support, balancing lymphatic and fluid regulation, and correcting myofascial and structural alignment patterns.

On my free time I love to travel, paint, play in the garden, and craft new recipes. My hope and wish for you is that I give you the tools and knowledge you need to empower yourself to continue on your healing journey while being at your side to give you the support you need.
